Many events in Forte di Bard summer: great music with the sophisticated jazz of Musicastelle in Blue review, Napoleonica first edition, an historical re-enactment dedicated to the passage of Napoleone Bonaparte, Celtic music sounds and Neffa pop music. In addition, four extra initiatives with the aim of promoting the area throughout sport and spare time with Monterosa Walser Ultratrail first edition, events to promote tourism through golf and climbing – Forte di Bard Golf Challenge and Forte di Bard Boulder Contest – and Forteight footrace. As far as great exhibitions are concerned, the expositive season will be characterized by the Magnum Contact Sheets project, co-produced by Forte di Bard and Magnum Photos Agency.

Friday, June 21st will be opened to the public, in the exhibition space of the cellars of the Fortress, the Exhibition-event Magnum Contact Sheets dedicated to the exploration of the creative process behind some of the most famous icons in the photographic world.

Sunday, July 7th, Breton music and Irish dancing in Celtica new edition (free entrance)
From 3 p.m. in the village of Bard music and travelling with Pendragon and Ascapiss Pipeband.
From 9 p.m. in the fortress Aosta Free Moves, The Sidh & Innova Irish Dance Company.
From July 19th until July 21st the Piazza d’Armi of the Fortress will be transformed in a jazz Italian temple. Thanks to the cooperation between the Department of Tourism of the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta, Blue Note Milan and Forte di Bard Association will be renewed the appointment with Musicastelle that will alternate the big international jazz. The concert calendar edition 2013 states Friday, July 19th bassist Marcus Miller live music, Saturday July 20th, the refined voice of Sarah-Jane Morris. The end of the as close to the exhibition will be the saxophonist Branford Marsalis. Events start at 21.30.

August
August has two major sporting events signed Forte di Bard and aimed to promote tourism nearby. The first one is the gripping MonterosaWalserUltraTrail, in its first edition, to be held on Saturday, August 3rd (registration at monterosawalserultratrail.com). Two tracks on which fans will be able to measure themselves: the ultratrail (50 km) and the trail (20 km).
The second event will be the Forte di Bard Boulder Contest dedicated to the promotion of climbing and bouldering. It confirms his outdoor appointment in Gressoney-La-Trinité. Sunday, August 11th in collaboration with the municipal administration.
Saturday, August 10th the White Night with an extended evening opening of the exhibition spaces and entertainments.
Saturday, August 31st and Sunday, September 1st, the fortress and the village of Bard will host the first edition of the Napoleonica. The event features the re-enactment of the passage of Napoleon Bonaparte and the siege of the fort in May 1800 with the fortress as the main protagonist and the scene of a fierce battle that lasted for two weeks. The episode will be rebuilt through the staging of environment of that period (camps) and events (battle scenes). Two days full of initiatives that will give the public an engaging and immersive experience.
As part of the Family Summer calendar sponsored by the Regional Tourism Association, Bard suggests three events: Saturday July 13th, the green area of the Stables will host the Legningegno, giant wood games both for adults and children; Saturday, July 27th and Saturday, August 10th families will be able to participate, on request, to the mountains educational workshop Let’s reach the mountains that will be held within the two paths of the permanent museums of the fortress, the Museum of the Alps and the Children Alps.

On Sunday 29th Forteight will be back, the footrace of 8 kilometres between Bard and Hône Village. In autumn there will be also a photography workshop in cooperation with the Magnum Photos Agency related to collateral events within the Magnum Contact Sheets exhibitions. The subject will be the choice of the image through the teaching of two official Magnum photographers.
