The exhibition presents an unprecedented project, the pictures of a reportage by Stefano Unterthiner, Valle d’Aosta photographer from 2006 to 2017 commissioned by National Geographic Magazine. 77 pictures on display, divided into eleven thematic sections: penguin, Crozet; swan, Japan; langurs, India; Andean fauna, Chile; terns, Seychelles; varano Komodo, Indonesia; Alpine fauna, Italy; macaque, Indonesia; hawk naumanni, Italy; kangaroos, Australia. To these, in addition a section entitled A look to the future (Uno sguardo al future)that will introduce the photo preview of the project A family in the Arctic (Una famiglia nell’artico). This project refersto the stay of over one year, from 2019 to 2021, of the photographer and his family in Svalbard Islands, archipelago of the Arctic Glacial Sea, with the intent of documenting and communicating the climate change phenomena.
It will be even introduced the 26 minutes documentary A wild life (Una vita selvaggia) that presents the work of Stefano Unterthiner through the unpublished material shot during some assignments.
The exhibition completely take part to the cultural line that Forte di Bard offers to exploration and photographic documentation in natural domain through national and international artists.
The exhibition will be opened from December 14th, 2019 to June 2nd, 2020.
