Two Italians won awards: Fortunato Gatto triumphed in the Plants and Fungi category with his shot Old Man of the Glen (Il vecchio della valle) and earned Honourable Mentions for High Tide Indicator (Indicatore di alta marea) and A Carpet of Woods (Un tappeto di boschi) in the same category. Filippo Carugati was awarded an Honourable Mention in the Underwater category for his photograph Green, Thin and Rare to See (Verde, magro e raro da vedere).
