Saturday, August 31st and Sunday, September 1st, the fort and the village of Bard will host the fifth edition of Napoleonica. The event features the reconstruction of the famous passage of Napoleon Bonaparte and his troops which took place in May 1800 during the Second Italian Campaign. The French Armée de Réserve coming from Gran San Bernardo Mountains invaded at the time Valle d’Aosta Region putting siege the Fort of Bard. After two weeks it capitulated with the honours of war.
The episode will be re-enacted through the preparation of period rooms, battle scenes, military parades that will see 200 people from different European countries, and from different Italian regions. Two days full of initiatives that will give the public an engaging and immersive atmosphere. Men and women with clothes of the time, guns, horses, everything back to the beginning of the nineteenth century.
